The Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN), (limited by guarantee) is an incorporated collective association of authors, composers, arrangers and publishers of music.
MCSN has exclusive control within the territory of the Federal Republic of Nigeria of performing and mechanical rights in over 20 million musical and audio-visual works through direct assignments and contracts from over six million authors, composers, arrangers, publishers, directors, writers and producers of music and audio-visual works in Nigeria and world-wide. MCSN is a full member of La Confederation Internationale Societies des Auteurs et Compositeurs – CISAC, (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers) and the International Bureau of Organizations Managing Mechanical Reproduction Rights (BIEM) – the world bodies of authors societies.
In this year, MSCN was set up to take over the responsibilities of both the PRS and MCPS in Nigeria.
